art work pastel painting

Image
This was a second attempt at pastel painting with this image. This was demonstrated in a class recently. Inspired by artist Steve Hall  who I really like. I used cheap soft pastels for the sky on pastelmat paper, bigger than an A4 size. I blended in the blues and added the cloud colours over the paper. I used carbothello pastel pencils for most of the mountains and midground areas. I then added some strokes of unison soft pastels for grass and tree sections. I loved this task. Will definitely push myself into pastel work in the future.

Welsh lanscape in charcoal

This was demonstrated in class yesterday at Llanharan.

This was a demo I created in a class in Merthyr.  The group seemed to like this style and method. It could be applied to many subjects. I loved doing this.

One colour lanscape study

Image
This was a tonal study in watercolour using an image I found from the web, the artist was Tina Holley .  I have done this task twice this term but with different chosen colours.   This one is Indigo, one of my favourite colours.  I loved working from the sky down to the distant mountains and then the dry brush effect for the lake or river.  The learners in both classes really enjoyed this one.

Life study in charcoal

This is another task in radiness for one of my classes.  Original drawing found by an artist on the web.  This was my version of how to build up tonal values of this subject.  I think the leraners will like this task despite it being charcoal pencil, a least limited dust beffects.

This was a painting I have used for one of my courses.  I followed as best I could from this artist's painting by Richard Snearly.  I enjoyed the layering and the processes between layers.  I like this images relationship to light and shade.

landscape Road again

This was another attempt in Llanharan art class today.  Same image as before, but still enjoyable to work on.  Those in class had a go and all had different outcomes. Watercolour and then gouache highlights was the method today.
