landscape road

Image
This was a second attempt at this scene. Inspired by a pastel artist. I sketched a basic outline and then applied wet into wet all over the paper. I left to dry than added layers of colour to build up the scene. Once done I then used gouache to add some highlights and more vibrant colour to road and some of the bright greens. This will be used for next term as a task. I enjoyed creating this painting very much.

Monet field of poppies

This was another attempt at this famous scene by Monet. This has to be my favourite attempt as I found it quite relaxing and very enjoyable to work on. I felt the sky and the trees were more successful in this version.  I  think the learners in the art classes also enjoyed creating this one as well.

This was painted this week as an idea for a future task next term. This was done in acrylic and on watercolour paper A4 size. This was inspired by artist James Richards. I hope to try more like this for future exercises.
