Corfe Castle 2

Ludlow part 2

Image
Ludlow part two! This second attempt was done on A3 black art pad, created as a demo in class 2 weeks ago. Not too accurate but very enjoyable.  I am findig using Gouache more and more versatile and another medium in which I can express my art skills.  I would love to combine waterclour and gouache in one painting and see how they both compliment eachother.

Winter scene in Gouache

Image
Capture winter in Gouache! I found an artwork online that I wanted to re-interpret in Gouache paint, I did not use pencil to do a simple sketch but painted straight onto watercolour paper.  I am getting more used to using this medium. I decided to flip the original image and just create my own version.  Starting with the sky and then working down to the horizon, changing the blues all the time. This could be any scene from Wales or England, but it would be evn better to paint such a scene from life, perhaps when I get more time to do so! This may well become a task for my students in the new term in Jan 2023.

View in Tenby (30th Oct 2022)

This is a view towards the rocks over looking North Beach. I found the view of the buildings and all the trees and gardens quite irresistible to photograph and also now to create a watercolour sketch.  It took only a couple of hours, but I fully enjoyed the challenge.  Sometimes drawing a memory has more impact than just sbapping images.
