skies and clouds

Image
This is another task finished today in readiness for September classes. It is meant to show how I create skies and clouds in acrylic paint. This was done on an A4 size acrylic board and I painted two scenes on the one sheet and added a shadow effect just to make it feel if they are laid on top of a sheet or board. Enjoyed working on this one.

This was demonstrated in my Llanharan class a few weeks ago. Based on my first attempt for my task notes. I love the impressionistic approach. I loved using burnt sienna as a base colour and then used ink to draw the scene. I have learnt this approach helps make the colours zing, especially white. Again more like this in the future.

Indian ink and wash

Did this yesterday. Based on a YouTube video by artist Christopher Steven. I used my A4 landscape journal paper for this. Used Indian ink, a spray and home made bamboo dipping pen. Again this is in readiness for September classes. This approach lends itself to be free and creative. Not too tight and does not need to be the same as the original image from the video.

This was my class demo last week. Based on a practice attempt I did before. This is taken from artist Joseph Alleman. I really love this image, the colour, the subject matter. It is now on my wall framed in the house. I intend to try more in this style and colour range. Love it.
